What is currently supported?
LedgerlyPro supports direct Companies House filing for eligible annual accounts through its live filing service. Supported filing types depend on the Companies House services currently enabled for LedgerlyPro.
You provide a prepared iXBRL accounts file and the filing details required by the guided workflow. LedgerlyPro does not currently generate the iXBRL accounts file from your bookkeeping records.
Companies House does not endorse individual software providers. LedgerlyPro only describes filing types as available after the required testing and enablement have been completed.
What it costs
Annual accounts filing is charged per filing at £19.99 one-off. That is a LedgerlyPro filing service fee and is separate from the £9.99/month LedgerlyPro subscription — your subscription does not include filing service fees.
Companies House does not currently charge a statutory filing fee for annual accounts, so the £19.99 is the total due. Where a filing type does carry a statutory fee, it is always shown as its own line at checkout so you can see exactly what is a government charge and what is ours.
Paying the filing service fee covers preparing and transmitting your filing. It is not a guarantee that Companies House will accept it — Companies House applies its own validation rules and statutory requirements, and a rejected filing can be corrected and resubmitted where those rules allow.
What you need before filing
A prepared, tagged iXBRL accounts file for the period you are filing. LedgerlyPro transmits this file; it does not produce or tag it for you, so it usually comes from your accountant or from accounts-production software.
Your company's Companies House authentication code. Companies House treats this as the equivalent of a company officer's signature, so only provide it if you are authorised to file for the company. LedgerlyPro uses it only to authorise the filing and does not store it.
Approval of the accounts by the company's directors, and the company number, accounting period and contact details for the filing. Filing deadlines remain the company's responsibility — using LedgerlyPro does not change them, so allow time in case a filing needs correcting and resubmitting.
Frequently asked questions
Can I file annual accounts with Companies House through LedgerlyPro?
Yes. LedgerlyPro supports live Companies House annual accounts filing using prepared iXBRL accounts.
Does Companies House charge a fee for annual accounts filing?
No Companies House statutory filing fee currently applies to annual accounts. LedgerlyPro charges a separate one-off filing service fee.
How much does LedgerlyPro charge for annual accounts filing?
£19.99 one-off, separate from the £9.99/month LedgerlyPro subscription.
Does LedgerlyPro support Confirmation Statements (CS01)?
CS01 will be enabled only after the required Companies House software testing is completed.
Is LedgerlyPro approved or endorsed by Companies House?
LedgerlyPro has completed the required software filing testing for its supported annual accounts filing capability. Companies House does not endorse or recommend individual software products.
What is a company authentication code?
It is the code Companies House issues to a company to authorise electronic filings. Companies House treats it as the equivalent of a company officer's signature, so it should be kept secure and only used by someone authorised to file for the company. LedgerlyPro uses it solely to authorise your filing and does not store it.
Does LedgerlyPro create the iXBRL accounts file?
Not currently. You need a prepared, tagged iXBRL accounts file that is ready for Companies House.
